Hi Tweeters,

We went to Haystack Rock yesterday hoping to see the tufted puffins
after visiting the hairy-thighed curlew at the south jetty. Is there some
trick to seeing these? Is high tide or low tide better? The tide was in
some, but I was able to scope a lot of the rock. We saw some cormorants,
harlequin ducks, and of course large numbers of gulls, but no puffins or
murres. I really would like to see the tufted puffin.
