Subject: GODWIT at Neah Bay??

Hey Tweets,

Just got back from my annual fishing trip tp Neah Bay & will give you a report
on that later (tomorrow?) but had a question on something I saw Thursday
afternoon about 1:30 pm on the beach near the Makah Marina. I was about 150
yard away or so as we got ready to push off to go fishing when I saw this bird
on the beach. It was a large shore bird (bigger than a crow) & worked its way
along the water's edge away from me probing with a long, straight dark
(black?) bill. It was basically cinnamon in color, but I wasn't close enough
to get a better look at any markings. I never saw it fly or heard its call. It
had (?) to be a GODWIT and my first thought was a MARBLED GODWIT, but the
coloration makes me think it could have been a BARTAILED GODWIT. Anybody got
any ideas?

Sorry, I couldn't get a report in sooner but I didn't have any phone numbers
or access to a computer from there.

Thanks for your help.
