While out on the Neotrop Training we were able to cross the creek in a
4-wheel drive van without any problem. The creek crossing seems to be
all rock at that point. Most vehicles with reasonable clearance could
probably make it. Once we got up to the campgroud it was increadibly
devoid of birds!! Mike Denny was with us and said he has never seen it
to quiet. We speculated we may have hit a day the migrators that had
been there took off and nothing had arrived to take their place.

Last weekend (May 9) the people who did the Wenas on the Yakima
County
Birdathon did not drive into the campground because of high water, even
though they had a full-size pickup. I made it through the water a week
earlier in our Dodge Caravan, though the water may have gotten higher
since
then.
