While everyone else is chasing curlews, we headed to eastern WA. On May 16th
had good views of Clark's Grebes at Moses Lake, 2 Great Egrets on a pond on
the east side of Stratford Road at Rd. 10N. Two White Pelicans west of
Othello. Only saw Forster's and Caspian-no Black-Terns. ( Had 6 comical
newly-fledged Black-billed Magpies at 14N off Stratford.) Sage Thrashers and
Sparrows still hanging around Quilomene WRA. Chukar well seen on rocky
outcropping just below Wanapum Dam . . . Rock Wrens singing up a storm! Isn't
the Bristle-thighed Curlew chase wonderful??? Regards,
