Hi Tweets:

On Monday, May 18, Hugh Jennings and I completed the monthly survey of the
Redmond Watershed Preserve. We had 7 new species: Ruffed Grouse with 6-8
young (seen by park ranger), 15 Pacific-slope Flycatchers, 1 Hutton's Vireo, 1
Yellow Warbler, 1 MacGillivray's Warbler, 18 Wilson's Warblers, 4 Black-
headed Grosbeaks.

We counted a total of 254 birds, 28 species, including 3 Western Tanagers, 6
Brown Creepers, and 46 Winter Wrens. The 2 Pileated Woodpeckers continue to
use their nest site, but no obvious evidence of young. The survey took about
5 1/2 hours. A lot of the birding is by ear. If there is a "birding by ear
expert" who would like to join us for the June survey (between June 16 and 19)
please contact me directly.
