Um, at those temperatures, exposure should be minimal, because your lungs
begin to freeze. 55 minutes in "normal" winter garb and you're going to be
in a world of hurt. I don't know how bird sinus structures work, or if
they're able to warm air at those temperatures sufficiently to avoid this
hazard, but I know humans wouldn't be very happy. Or do these nutcrackers
have birdie mufflers & ski masks? 8-)
