On 5/2/98 at the Kent ponds I observed a duck that appeared at first to
be a hybrid Cinnamon/blue-winged teal. It was after further inspection
that I noticed some Northern Shoveler characteristics as well. The duck
with associating with two male Cinnamon Teal. I will try to describe it
based on my notes:

Cinnamon body and breast. (like Cinnamon Teal)
Green head. (like Shoveler)
White facial crescents. (like Blue-winged Teal)
Black Shoveler-like bill.
Yellow eyes. (like Shoveler)
Orange feet.
In flight, blue patches on wings (more like Blue-winged Teal than
Cinnamon).

>From what I have read all three of these species interbreed but I have
not found any photos or descriptions. Perhaps someone has some further
information or has seen this same duck? Sorry about the tardiness of
this report, I just starting subscribing to Tweeters again and it seemed
like the perfect forum.
