Birders,
On May 21 we heard & saw a (non-Starling type) COMMON NIGHTHAWK=20
& an EASTERN KINGBIRD at the Patterson unit of the Umatilla NWR in
southern Benton County WA. These were our first of the year & were
about on time for 1st arrivals. Also there was a migrant VAUX'S SWIFT
& 2 male BLUE-WINGED TEAL.

If you are in the area, there is a BURROWING OWL nest just west of the
Plymouth weigh station on highway 14. Park where it says Fines Double
if you park here. North side of road.

Still no warbler/flycatcher migration. Maybe they went over the top
when it was hot in late April.
