I wondered if I would ever be able to identify the Black-headed Grosbeak
by ear several years ago. A local long-time bird watcher had told me it
was similar to the American Robin's song. I finally feel I know the
difference, and now I'm trying to sort out the Western Tanager. I
believe I've heard a Tanager for several days in my neighborhood. Is
there any OTHER (besides those I've mentioned) bird I might confuse it
with?

P.S. I only occasionally "twitch" (Skagit Co. GG Owl a couple of years
ago, and the Ridgefield Vermillion Flycatcher). I'm a pretty competitive
person, but that just doesn't translate very well into bird watching for
me.
