Friday, May 22nd
-------------------------
4 EVENING GROSBEAKS, a RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKER and 4 other species of
woodpeckers were at 4655 Kerryview Road off Prospect Lake Road in Saanich.
Birders are welcome at that address.

Thursday, May 21st
-----------------------------
2 BULLOCKS' ORIOLES were still at 1346 Munroe Road in North Saanich and a
VAUX'S SWIFT was over Viaduct Flats in Saanich.

The WILSON'S PHALAROPE reported at Viaduct on May 20 was not reported
subsequently.

Tuesday, May 19th

3 BLACKHEADED GROSBEAKS were at Jennings Lane east of Elk/Beaver Lakes in
Saanich.

Monday, May 18th
---------------------------
For those who may be travelling into the Okanagan Valley a THREE-TOED
WOODPECKER was drumming through most of the morning, is probably on
territory directly across the highway from the Manning Park Lodge on
Highway 3 in Manning Park. Search and listen on the north side of the
Black Wall access road and across from the staff houses. These staff
houses are directly across the highway from the Lodge.

A RED KNOT was at Sidney Spit on Sidney Island.

Saturday, May 16th

A female XANTUS' HUMMINGBIRD, a Baja California vagrant was relocated again
in the Gibson's area of the Sechelt Peninsula north of Vancouver. The bird
is visiting a feeder regularly but at a different location than during the
winter and early spring. For updates and directions to this new location
call Lynn Thorsteinson of Gibson's at 604-886-3338. Updates would be
appreciated.
