Although I'm usually a silent reader on this list, I feel I need to point out
something that is being skimmed over in this debate. Why do we all subscribe
to this list? Why would most of us rather spend our free time enjoying the
company of birds than a television? Shouldn't the fact that we all, in our
various ways, admire and yearn for the company of these winged creatures be
our uniting creed? Not which type of birder we classify ourselves as?
