an interesting side bar on this one is he told me that
there Bremerton goshawk chick fell out of the nest and
was in a field near the tree at the edge of the Sound.
the parents tried to feed it for a while, but it was
emaciated and some folks *rescued* it and brought it
to Olympic Wildlife Refuge..after they fed it up for
a while and it was stronger, they went back to the
nest site and replaced the chick in the nest with
some local media coverage...

now, that's what I was told, but, like you, I am
more than a little skeptical about the accuracy of
that account...must be the Folklorist part of my
brain which is interested in story...after all, veracity
is only one aspect of a story..and often not the
most important (assuming you're not on the stand
under oath... :)
