Interesting account. I guess I am a bit surprised that I
never heard about it. Although the Department of Fish
and Wildlife has worked hard developing a database of
goshawk nest territories, we have zero for Kitsap
County.

Goshawk nests are so rare on the Olympic Peninsula
(and virtually unheard of in Puget Trough portions of Kitsap,
Mason, and Pierce Counties) that it makes this story all the
more worthy of being repeated over and over again,
*if they were truly goshawks.*
