Saw a couple of crows dive bombing a GREAT BLUE HERON. Now what have
herons ever done to crows? From my understanding, herons eat fish, not
other birds! Those crows kept diving at the noble creature as it flapped
in great dignity, steady on its course. One of the crows struck the
heron and the heron responded with a weary "ohnk!". After a couple more
dives at the heron the crows flew away.

I've seen crows dive-bomb hawks and eagles, but never a great blue heron!
Do crows always pick on birds bigger than they are?

I've also seen "gang warfare" at many a dumpster.....crows and gulls
fighting over turf and garbage! Crows are such brazen creatures, no
wonder they do so well in an urban environment..... Brazen, bold,
fearless, and omnivors to boot! Gulls are also doing very well as
urbanites, and I imagine for the same reason crows are.

Do gulls and crows relate the same in the wild as they do in urban
settings?
