Today, despite the rain we went out to see if we could find the COMMON
GRACKLE. We didn't find it, but did see LARK SPARROWS, a CHIPPING
SPARROW, two LAZULI BUNTINGS (lifer) and two CANYON WRENS (lifer). We
have heard them for a long time and today when Sandy heard it she said
"I am going to find it." She did--two of them!

I think we have located their nest site. They were very busy collecting
whatever they eat on the rock faces and immediatly would go back to the
same place--behind some shrubs on the side of the hill. We watched them
for about ten minutes and went home very wet, but with a smile on our
faces. :-))

We can find very little information on the CANYON WREN. The Birder's
Handbook--A Field Guide To The Natural History Of North American Birds
has no information on incubation or fledging times. There is nothing
about there specific diet. Are there any other books that would have
that information? Why is there so little information on them?

Please post any responses to tweeters. Thanks.
