I'd like to amend my previous post about replacing rehabbed
raptor chicks in their nest. From another chat group I just learned
from a rehabber that if there is another chick in the nest, it is
probably the larger one who had evicted the smaller one and
the same thing will happen again. Or, as this rehabber has
learned the hard way, there is sometimes something wrong
with the evicted chick which its parents and sibling(s) can
detect but humans can't and it doesn't do well in the long run.

Meddling humans nevertheless learn a lot of interesting
stuff.
