Thanks to a tip from Diane Weber, we went down to the new Wastewater
Treatment Facility at Coulee City (30 miles south of Grand Coulee) and
saw 2 male RED-NECKED PHALAROPES, 15 male and female WILSON'S
PHALAROPES, one immature BONAPARTES GULL?, and lots of ducks. On the
south side of the road, across from the marina there were 4
BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT HERONS. In the campground there were 3 species of
swallows, LARK SPARROWS, and some little guys or gals that looked like a
HUTTON'S VIREO?? according to Peterson's Field Guide--they were not
RUBY-CROWNED KINGLETS. Any ideas on what they might be?

We need to take our video camera, then when we get back home we can
replay it 50 times and maybe we can figure out all these little
look-alikes.

We also saw and heard 4 LONG-BILLED CURLEWS in a cut field about a mile
North of Coulee City. Their call in flight was the same as the
Peterson's CD. Cool Bird!
