Hi:

There is currently a trail, primarily along the Green River from just North of
Ft. Dent Park (Tukwilla) near the confluence of the Green and the Black
rivers, through South Center, Kent and Auburn, down to somewhere in the
neighborhood of the city of Pacific. The trail departs from the Green in
South Kent, and proceeds through a nice wetland area, and on down through the
valley past Emerald Downs.

As I understand it, the plan for this trail was to complete it from Seattle's
waterfront to somewhere in Tacoma, which of course hasn't been done. It would
be nice to see this trail completed too, and at least the Seattle/waterfront
end could tie into an Everett to Tacoma trail. I'm not sure how near the
existing trail goes to the Blue Heron rookery in Auburn, but it has to be very
close to it.

I think that a trail through natural areas makes a lot more sense than
lighting up Seattle, is probably lots cheaper, and will provide something for
generations to come.
