On the interurban trail in Auburn last SAturday, Jerry and I saw a
small mammal, about 10-12 inches that caused us to remark -oh , a
weasel., but we weren't sure.
Are sure that it had a yellow-mustard colored undersides - no white.
top part was dark brown. Had a dark tip on the tail.
Was very tame or incredibly near sighted. We approached to within 15
feet and then it ran past us and dove into a ditch behind us.
Don't remember what ferrets look like, but think they are bigger than
the creature we saw.
