Dear Fellow Tweets, I teach writing to 6th-graders in
a project that helps them get published in local
newspapers and newsletters (in the last 3 years, more
than 100 kids have been published).

Four of my kids have been assigned by a local publisher
to write an article about the upcoming Christmas bird
count. We plan to follow a counter around for awhile
and find out what counting is like, why people do it,
etc.

I think the kids should also include some information
about the history of the Christmas bird counts and why
they are valuable to science.

Does anybody out there have information on this? Would
you be willing to be interviewed by the kids? Is there
a Website we could visit that gives this info, or some
publication we could access? What do you suggest?
