A few weeks ago I offered a spreadsheet version of the AOU and ABA lists.
For those who received these lists, I have one small correction, and one
clarification.

The correction is that I had missed the one change from the 1996-97 ABA
Checklist Report, _Birding_ December 1997. In that report, the ABA added
Common Redshank (Tringa totanus). So you may want to update the ABA Code
to 5, and the ABA Status to "A". Common Redshank follows Marsh Sandpiper in
the ABA list. I already had it included on the AOU list.

The clarification also came to light in rereading that Checklist Report.
Previously, the ABA had considered the Canary-winged Parakeet as introduced
in Florida (Code 2, Status I). When the AOU split this species into
Yellow-chevroned Parakeet and White-winged Parakeet, the ABA status became
unclear. The AOU does not consider Yellow-chevroned Parakeet to be
established in the AOU area. The ABA Checklist Report indicated
Yellow-chevroned Parakeet to be the species established in Florida, but
stated that they would be reviewing the status of both species vis-a-vis the
ABA list. They did not make it clear what the current state of the ABA list
should read.

In my confusion (and theirs), the list I sent out has both species shown as
introduced (Code 2, Status I), and Yellow-chevroned Parakeet is the only
species on my spreadsheet which is not on the AOU list. This explains why,
after the addition of Common Redshank, my ABA list has 909 species, while
the official ABA list has 908.
