There was a $.25 bounty on crows in Washington State until sometime in the
1960s. I think they took the bounty off of crows, coyotes, and cougars at
about the same time. During the era of crow bounties, I don't remember ever
seeing a crow in a metropolitan area either in the Puget Sound region, or in
the Tri-Cities in Eastern Washington. I still marvel at the current
proliferation of these birds, compared to the relative scarcity of the past.
