Hi folks,

Was in Hood Canal last Tuesday, from the bridge down to Ayock Point.
Weather started out foggy and flat calm, but the wind kicked up to
maybe 10kts from the south, and there was a bit of chop on the water
by mid-p.m. A bit of rain to top the day off..... Usual November
weather.

While trying to pay attention to the seine boats fishing for chum salmon,
I only saw 32 species. Most likely I missed a few :-)

Common Loon
Pacific Loon
Western Grebe
Horned Grebe
Red-necked Grebe
Double-crested Cormorants
Brandt's Cormorants - on the yellow nav. buoy at Bangor
Canada Goose - B.c. moffitti - Seabeck
Mallard - 1 hen at Seabeck
Common Goldeneye
Barrows Goldeneye - Seabeck
Bufflehead - Seabeck
Red-breasted Merganser
Surf Scoter
White-winged Scoter
Coots - Seabeck
Glaucous-winged Gull
Mew Gull
Bonaparte's Gull
Ring-billed Gull - Seabeck
California Gull
Pigeon Guillemot - all in Basic Plumage
Marbled Murrelet - 5 Hazel Pt, Seabeck
Bald Eagle - 4, all adults
Merlin - 1 small dark bird flying toward Bangor Nuke Sub Base
Great Blue Heron
Belted Kingfishers - didn't sex them, sorry Scott
Crows
American Robin
Golden-crowned Kinglet - Salisbury Point launch
Chestnut-backed Chickadee - Salisbury Pt
Starling

Harbor seals and California sea lions were the only mammals seen.
Lots of neat places on the Canal - I need to spend some time on the
water there when I have more time to bird....
