We took a flying trip to Long Beach yesterday. I didn't have much time =
to do any birding, but did get a short stop at Loomis Lake. There were =
a smattering of cormarants, widgeons, pied-bill grebes, pintails, Lesser =
scarp, and ring-necked ducks. But there were also two swans, I couldn't =
see any markings on their bills, feeding along the edge. Then two of =
the biggest otters I've ever seen (like that made sightings three and =
four), came swimming and playing across the lake. Pretty good for only =
15 minutes.
