In regards to the recent posts on gull identification material: I
recently purchased "The Large Gulls of North America" video, and it's
very, very good. I highly recommend it; from beginning to
advanced gullers, it's got something for everybody. Watching it I felt
like I was at a gull ID class.

I was particularly pleased with its coverage of Thayer's gull and
glaucous-winged x western gull hybrids. It also covers slaty-backed and
the vega race of the herring gull, and other hybrid combinations.

There was a very good review of this video recently on the ID Frontiers
listserve. To find it, go to http://www.nbhc.com/birdmail.htm and click
on NBHC ID-Frontiers. The review is by Robert Lewis and it was posted on
October 29.
