Saturday Michael Hobbs noticed a Raven among crows in Woodland Park Zoo in
Seattle and wondered if ravens are common in Seattle.

Sorry for the delayed answer, Michael. Ravens are rare in Seattle's urban
area. They do nest in King Co. and can be found in the county year round
(Gene Hunn, 1982, Birding in Seattle and King Co.). A few years ago we had
the first for the Seattle CBC from the Green Lake area.

However, these days the Zoo (Raptor dept.) has a captive Raven and they
trained it to fly free. Do you know for sure you were not watching that
bird? It usually is followed/harassed/distracted by crows.
