Whenever I think of these birds, I remember fondly watching them at the
Everett Marina by the thousands. They nested in an area eventually needed
by the Navy, and, as expected, the Navy won. It was my understanding they
were to be "relocated" to a large manmade island nearby (the Everett
Jetty). I've never heard that the project was successful, and suspect it
wasn't. Is there any reason for us to believe if we disturb that colony
on the Columbia, we might lose that colony..,despite our best intentions?
