These items may be old stuff, but new for me:

1. There is a flock of about 20 Cackling Geese among the the big honkers
along the path at Montlake
(Nov 3). They are about as tame as the others, and one can easily walk up
to them and get a good look or take a picture. This is the first time I
have been able to see them this closely. On that day there were also two
White-fronted Geese in the flock. Ditto on getting close to them.

2. Saw two Mockingbirds in a hawthorn bush along the loop trail at
Discovery Park (where the trail enters the meadow over the bluff) on Nov
10. I have seen a number of reports of Mockingbirds in the area, but these
are the first I've seen in the Seattle area.
