Subject: peregrine sighted over UW campus this morning

i watched a peregrine falcon soar, dive, zoom and hover over the
southern and central parts of campus this morning. i was walking
to a coffee shop to meet a friend and had my eyes glued to this
bird most of the way. i am getting more practiced at the art of
birding-while-walking since i was able to successfully avoid
colliding with these objects; parked cars, parking meters, moving
cars, moving students, stop signs, light poles, a dumpster (the
scent tipped me off), a tree, and a piece of heavy equipment
(identity unknown). i also did not trip or fall in any potholes.

the bird was a joy to watch, a temporary reprieve from being a
clumsy terrestrial being who has a large collection of bruises
caused by bumping into solid stationary objects while birding.
