Hi,

Snow Geese are at Reifel Sanctuary, though last weekend they chose not to
come into the fields along the access road. However, they are sitting on a
slough easily visible from the observation tower (wonder whether they do
that so that everybody has to pay entrance fee? :) ), and sometimes they
go up in a cloud. I like the late afternoon time best when less visitors
are around, and the geese are sometimes starting to move around.
We had a total of 44-46 species on Saturday, including 1 Am. Avocet,
Black-crowned Night-Heron, any kind of ducks, Peregrine, N.Harrier,
Red-tailed Hawk, Trumpeter(?) Swans on Westham Isl., Long-billed
Dowitcher, Greater Yellowlegs,, Dunlins, and 3 Barn Swallows. A N.Saw-whet
Owl was seen the day before, but we missed out on that. No Snowy Owls
reported in Vancouver area so far.

On Sunday, 1, possibly 2 Snow Bunting were almost at the tip of the Iona
jetty.
