Subject: FW: [SEABIRD] rfi -- Caspian Tern telemetry

Hi folks,

Saw this on the Seabird-L list, and thought that people south and
north of the Columbia might be interested in what people are planning
for 'our' Caspian Terns.

If you can help, please contact Dr. Lyons, not me. Thanks.

Request for Information:

I am part of a team of researchers studying Caspian terns in the Columbia River Estuary near Astoria, Oregon. Next year we plan to
integrate radiotelemetry into this ongoing study. While members of the
group have radiotelemetry experience, we have no past experience
tagging terns. I would be interested in hearing about other peoples
experiences with telemetry on terns (or similar species), particularly
with respect to the evaluation of various transmitter attachment
techniques (i.e. leg mount vs. tail mount, etc.) or any other pitfalls to
avoid, etc.

Thanks and please excuse the cross-posting.
