>What call(s) are the Boreal Owls responding to at this time of year?

We have had fair luck using the primary "trill" call.
We usually get at least a skiew response & sometimes
spot where they land. Once we were standing less than
a meter apart & one flew between us! Fun! That's in the
Blue Mountains near Walla Walla in Oct & Nov.
