Hi, Tweeters,

I'd thought the anti-owlers had pretty much died out. Unfortunately, I found
out differently. While at work the other day, someone brought up the fact that
one of the TV stations had a feature about Everett's spotted owl. One of the
noodniks I work with began ranting and raving about how the spotted owl has
destroyed the economy of the state, that the trees it's protecting (I know, I
know) are rotten clear through and should be clear cut, because there's people
living underneath the bridge in Shelton.
( I know, but that's what he said.)
He also said that it was a good thing that the Wildlife service had removed
it, as if they hadn't, he'd personally go and shoot the "damned nuisance" and
do the people of the State of Washington a "big favor".

This guy is normally not so strange...at least I didn't think so......but now,
I'm not so sure. I have to admit to a bit of cowardice..I don't normally talk
about my hobbies at work, but most of my coworkers know I'm a
"environmentalist", meaning I like birds and wild lands and trees.......but
this time I just kept my mouth shut. The foam from my coworker's frothing
mouth was just a little too real to not believe..

They're out there, folks, maybe constrained from totally destroying everything
we love only by law, but.......they are still out there, and they're still
dangerous!!
