Since my starlings had no problem hanging upside down, i was about
ready to give up.
Finally I built my own 'suet feeder in jail'. I took some old wire
fence, chicken wire would do and built a large box. Inside that I
hang a regular rectangular suet feeder. The holes of the fence
simply need to be small enough to keep starlings out and the box
big enough so if starlings land on it, they can't stick their heads
through and still get to the feeder.
you can purchase these from a lot of places now, and they are much
prettier than mine, but 100% effective.
