In June of last year while helping preform census of European Hares in the
field I counted two Skylarks that flushed. The field was very throughly
covered as each person was 10m apart and we covered the entire field. I
might have missed a few birds because I was actually supposed to be
looking for rabbit burrows. But in short yes they are there, but no there
are not many left.
