Sorry, Noel. Something in the back of my head told me that I shouldn't
repeat the suggestion that you were a jerk (especially in light of the
subject of my previous post!) but your remarks certainly did seem to be
well out of line as they stood. I was guilty of playing to my audience,
which I suspected was mostly against you. A lack of context is a dangerous
thing, and e-mail lends itself to playing fast and loose with context.

I agree with the premise that commerce is generally unwelcome on a
on a public forum. But again, I'm missing context, and don't know the
particulars of the case in question, so I won't pass judgment on it. But
whether or not I agree with your statements, or even the manner in which
you present them, I do agree that an apology is in order.

Mr. McCoy:

I wrote the author of the advertisement privately and pointed out that I
thought commercial posting to a public forum was inappropriate,
particularly one that is directly supported by public monies.

I was later called an S.O.B. and jerk by a Mr. Anderson. Now you have
repeated one of these libelous epitaphs in the same public forum. I request
that you publicly apologize for your actions.

Sincerely,
Noel Wamer
