I must offer my apologies to all subscribers to this list for having to
wade through the mess I seem to have created by posting a private and civil
request to one person that they refrain from commercial advertising on a
forum supported by a publicly supported institution.

I have tried to keep all correspondence regarding this matter private.
Unfortunately, some persons, specifically Messers. McCoy and Saecker, have
posted all or portions of private emails concerning the matter to the
list's subscribers.

I appreciate Mr. McCoy's apology for his comments. As to the comments of
Mr. Saecker, I can only wonder why he posted them, and why he thinks that
I cannot respond directly to a correspondent to this list. As to Mr.
Anderson's obscene and juvenile comments, I think that I will let them
stand on their on merits.

I appreciate being able to have the opportunity to read all of the posts to
this mail list. It is unlikely that you will see additional postings in
the future.
