This is Kas Dumroese with the northern Idaho / eastern Washington /
northeastern Oregon bird hotline.

The adult male ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD reported last week is still coming
to a feeder in Asotin County, Washington, according to Carole Vande
Voorde. The feeder is at the home of Joan and Roger Holland on the
Joseph Game Range. Go south along the Snake River from Asotin to
Heller's Bar, then up the Grand Rhonde River to the bridge. Just
before crossing the bridge over Joseph Creek, turn up the drive on the
left side of the road. WA DeLorme 42, D-8.

A juvenile HARRIS'S SPARROW was at the home of Tom Besser, just north
of Moscow, Latah County, Idaho on Sun November 15. The bird was not
relocated the next day. Another good sparrow for Moscow was a
juvenile tan-striped WHITE-THROATED SPARROW at the home of Charles
Swift today November 20. Give Charles a call to see if it's still
present 883-0553.

At the Walla Walla River delta in western Walla Walla County,
Washington today November 20 were 88 DUNLIN and 6 LONG-BILLED
DOWITCHERS according to Mike and MerryLynn Denny. The delta is just
north of the junction of US 12 and US 730. Park in the pullout on the
west side of US 12 across from Madame Dorianne Park and take the trail
down to the delta. Washington DeLorme 40, D-1. Also in the area was a
RUSTY BLACKBIRD. About 5 miles north of the delta along US 12, head
east on Iowa Dodd Beef Road. Continue past the slaughter house and
look for the pool on the north side of the road. The blackbird hides
in the thick grass but will pop out if you wait. WA DeLorme 40, CD-1.

Also from Walla Walla County, the Denny's report 2 adult WESTERN GULLS
and 2 MEW GULLS at Ice Harbor Dam on the Snake River today November
20. From the junction of US 12 and Washington 124 just southeast of
Pasco, head east on Washington 124 about 6 miles to the access road to
the dam. WA DeLorme 40, BC-1.5.

It appears to be a good season for BARN OWLS on the Palouse. Charles
Swift reports a minimum of 8 BARN OWLS in Hell's Gate State Park in
Lewiston, Nez Perce County, Idaho on November 13. The park is south
of Lewiston along the Snake River. Check in the campground esp the
conifers. ID DeLorme 54, A-1. Charles also discovered a BARN OWL nest
in Moscow, Latah County, Idaho. The nest with chicks is on the
northeast corner of the University of Idaho Administration Bldg. One
or two BARN OWLS are residing in my timber about 5 miles south of
Moscow. A female RED-BREASTED MERGANSER was at Mann Lake, near
Lewiston, Nez Perce County, Idaho today, November 20, according to
Carole Vande Voorde. To get there from the north side of Lewiston,
take US 12 across the river and take the first left toward East
Lewiston, and immediately the first left toward East Lewiston, and
immediately turn left on to East Main Street. Follow it to the
blinking yellow light and turn right onto Lapwai (aka Lindsay Creek)
Road. Follow Lindsay Creek until it ends at Grelle Avenue. Turn left
onto Grelle, and just after Grelle makes a sharp right turn, turn left
onto Powers Avenue. Follow Powers straight to the reservoir, about
1.3 miles. ID DeLorme 54, A-1.

There were 15 BONAPARTE'S GULLS below McNary Dam on the Columbia River
