had to come into the office to get some stuff, so I figured I'd post a few
things seen this morning (11/27):
--Female RED-BREASTED MERGANSER in Columbia River on Washington side. As
I was watching, it made a beeline across the river to the Cove on Sauvie
Island. Anyone going out toward Rentenaar Rd. area may want to double
check any merg they see near Willow Bar and the Cove.
--COMMON LOON and RED-THROATED LOON at Langsdorf Landing which is just
north of Frenchman's Bar County Par. Both were swimming north up the
channel.
--Two GREATER SCAUP with a CANVASBACK on Vancouver Lake. Grebes I saw
were all WESTERN.
--Crane viewing much better on Washington side than on Sauvie.

There seems to be a lot more banded Dusky Canada Geese this year. Take
some time as you scope for odd geese and write down band numbers--I think
I found something like 30 thus far today.

Thanks to Mary Anne Sohlstrom for the Pelican post yesterday--they took
off south fast in front of the 2 pm rain storm on Thanksgiving.
Also yesterday, there was a HARBOR SEAL just east of the Glen Jackson
(I-205) bridge.
