Hi Tweets,

The rain stopped, so a brisk walk to Third Beach from the Stanley Park
Entrance on the seawall along the west side of the park. Then back through
the forest (f) and out to Lost Lagoon (separate list). Tide very high,
slack, and the water very calm.

Highlights:

--the reappearance in English Bay of a number of RED-NECKED GREBES Podiceps
grisegena, all Basic-plumaged birds; HORNED GREBES P. auritus chumming
around indiscriminately with the other grebes and scoters, though one small,
dense flock (~15) on the outer edge of the Ferguson Point
mixed-scoter/diving duck flock; no synchronous diving, no gull theft.
--got curious just how many WESTERN GREBES Aechmophorus occidentalis there
were in the flock off Second Beach/Ferguson Point: 386 this weekend, 364
last, no CLARK'S GREBE A. clarkii evident;
