We must have brought back a bug from AZ or from the plane. Sandy has a
bad cold and I have bronchitis--but we decided to get some fresh air and
check the local area for birds. We drove a 29 mile loop from Grand
Coulee--North thru the Res.and back home. It sure was quiet!

Magpie-2
Northern Harrier-2
Bufflehead-32!
N. Shoveler-1
N. Flicker-1
Red-tail Hawk-3
Common Raven-2
American Crow-1

I guess it is good to find out what isn't around also. Maybe they were
all hiding--didn't want to get the bug from us. :-)

In our yard we have:
California Quail-zillions of them--well 50 to 100 anyway.
House Sparrows
House Finches
American Goldfinches
Junkos
Black-capped Chickadees
Northern Flicker-red shafted.
Black-billed Magpies--eating the suet.
Sharp-shinned Hawk--Makes it's rounds every day.

In our "outer" backyard (trees below and the lake) there are:
Common Merganser
Common Loon
Ring-necked Duck
Mallard
Bald Eagle
And the real pale Hawk that was here last year--Yes we know that it is
the same one.:-)
