Tuesday, November 24, 4:04 PM. Hello, this is Dave Beaudette (206) 365-2083.
I birded the Vashon to Fauntleroy Ferry today in King County. That's November
the 24th. About one-third of the way out from Vashon on a board floating in
the water was an adult BROWN PELICAN seen at 12:03 PM. That's all for now. By.

Tuesday, November 24, 9:15 PM. This report was received from Bob Norton, of
Joyce, WA, phone (360) 928-3053 this evening about 8:30. In Dungeness at the
Olympic Game Farm, Clallam County on Sunday, November 22nd, the EMPEROR GOOSE
was present in the company of about 100 dusky CANADA GEESE. It was visible
from the Game Farm Parking Lot in the field to the east. Bob had not had it
reported from the fields along Kitchen-Dick for some weeks. On Monday,
November 23rd, at La Push Harbor on the Pacific Coast, Bob and Russell Payson
saw about 30 BROWN PELICANS. Thank you.

Tuesday, November 24, 10:43 PM. Hi, this is Bill Tweit (360) 754-7098. I was
birding on the Samish Flats today, November 24th, into the wind. I had a
CHIPPING SPARROW with about 100 or more JUNCOS on the sheltered side of the
Bay View Hill at a spot about 50 yards west of the intersection of Benson Road
with Allen West Road. There's a paved road that goes south for just a short
way. I think it's the entrance to the old Bay View Dump. Anyway, about a tenth
of a mile south of Allen West on that paved road which is 50 yards west of the
intersection with Benson - a CHIPPING SPARROW. I had a HARRIS' SPARROW in
Edison at the first house on Smith Road which is the road that turns off to
the north on the east edge of Edison. I also had a HARLAN'S HAWK over Samish
Island and had a SNOW BUNTING along the Sauk River just a little way north of
Darrington [a few words lost]. Good By.

Wednesday, November 25, 9:42 PM. Hi, it's Sam Terry, (206) 329-9038.
Yesterday, the 24th off the lighthouse at Fort Flagler State Park on
Marrowstone Island I had 5 ANCIENT MURRELETS. That's about it. Good luck and
good birding.

Friday, November 27, 3:09 PM. Hello, this is Dave Beaudette (206) 365-2083
for November the 27th. At the Kent Ponds, 5 TUNDRA SWANS flew over and a
female RED-BREASTED MERGANSER was at the south end of the ponds. And in Kent a
flock of about 590 Cackling CANADAS were in a pasture north of South 212th
Street and west of the Frasier[?] Road. In Auburn a LONG-EARED OWL was found
roosting in willows along the east side of the interurban trail. From South
277th Street go south to the third large steel power pole. The owl was just
east of that pole. And that's all for now. Good By.

Friday, November 27, 8 PM. Hello, this is Scott Atkinson with a few birds to
report from the Sequim area for 27, November, today. First at the south end of
the public beach access near Graysmarsh, I had a female CASSIN'S FINCH in a
large flock of sparrows especially zonotrichia and a few other finches there.
These are in hawthorn, rose thickets right off the beach. Then over at the
Olympic Game Farm I was unable to find the EMPEROR GOOSE but I did have a
NORTHERN GOSHAWK and a tame second winter GLAUCOUS GULL. You'll have to enter
the drive to see this bird. It's in with many other gulls there taking
handouts near the rhinoceros pen. Good luck and good birding. By By.

Friday, November 27, 10:31 PM. Paul Hicks here, (360) 264-2462, for Friday, I
think it's the 27th. Just another report that west of Tenino at Rock Prairie
there is still at least one WHITE-TAILED KITE and it can be viewed from old
highway 99 at Dan Darr Farm or at the gravel pit entrance. Also accessed by
Mima Acres Road which goes along the southeast perimeter of Rock Prairie and
the bird is hanging out at the southeast perimeter of Rock Prairie. That's De
Lorme Atlas page 46. That's it.

Saturday, November 28, 10:07 AM. Hello, this is Kraig Kemper, (206) 789-9255,

Ferry run; 6 ANCIENT MURRELETS; from the northwest corner on the spit at Fort
Flagler State Park a mixed flock of BLACK TURNSTONES, DUNLINS, SANDERLINGS and
BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER along with a small flock of BRANT: in Island County at
the south end of Crockett Lake; LONG-BILLED DOWITCHER, 3 GREATER YELLOWLEGS;
in Penn Cove; 9 GREATER YELLOWLEGS, 100 plus BLACK TURNSTONES with several
SURFBIRDS. On Saturday, November 28th at the south end of Green Lake; two male
EURASIAN WIGEONS. Thank you.
