Last spring a Coopers crashed into a dense and very wet shrub chasing birds
at our feeder. He came out and perched on our phone line, about 15 feet from
our window, and spread his wings and tail for about five minutes. He obviously
was drying him(her)self out. A couple days ago, a Coopers flew into the same
bush but didn't get wet and flew to the neighbor's chimney when we flushed
him(her) out. Based on size, I would assume bird on both occasions a female.
