All this talk of scrub-jays has made me think our sighting last week
might have been more unusual than we thought. There were two in a
tree along a road on our way to Foulweather Point, just outside of a
town who's name I can't remember. If they are unusual around Puget
Sound, I can pull out the map and figure out the actual location.

And speaking of our trip, we didn't find many birds, but did add two
lifers (Common Tern & Rhinoceros Auklet), watched an Osprey pull a
fish out of the water and fly over the hood of our car (too close for
a photo) while being harassed by gulls, and some sort of waterfowl
that *might* have been an eider--it was flying fast and heading away
when we saw it so we didn't get a very good look, could have been a
Red-breasted Merganser too.
