The American Bird Conservancy sent out a notice that the National
Geographic documentary titled "The Secret Life of Cats" will be shown on
TBS-Cable on October ll, l998 at 7:00PM and 11:00PM EST. That comes to
4:00PM and 8:00PM Pacific Time.
This is a new film documenting cat predation around the world and
includes footage from the United States, England, New Zealand and
Australia. And they hope the documentary will help spead the word that
all cats should be indoors cats. To this I say, "Amen". During a career
as a wildlife biologist and refuge manager for the U.S. Fish and
Wildlife Service I saw more than a little cat predation on birds,
especially those which nest on or near the ground.
