These turkey vulture sightings intrigue me. Tuesday my husband and I drove
up to Index. Along highway 2, out of Monroe, right in the area of the
roadside chapel, I spotted what I thought was a turkey vulture. This
stretch of highway 2 is where I usually see all the big birds...hawks,
eagles...there's a lot of open field along the river. I thought it was
unusual because frankly, I didn't think turkey vultures were to be found in
this area. Am I wrong? Are they more common than I thought?
