Finally, saw Horned Grebe in Commencement Bay on Thursday. Also 3 male
and 2 female Gadwall at mouth of Hylebos Waterway.

While working in the Greenwater River this week, just below FS 70, we
were treated daily to seeing large numbers of Varied Thrush, Pine
Siskens, Juncos and Ravens. Every morning we could nearly set our watch
on seeing a Merlin fly down into the riparian area along 28 Mile Creek.
Dippers are always very visible as they cruise up and down the river.
One very nearly crashed into a member of our work team who was standing
midstream. 2 American Pipits and (curiously) 1 Belted Kingfisher.

Nothing spectacular, but always a welcomed treat to break the work day
routine.
