Oops,
A textbook-classic 2nd winter HEERMANN'S' gull was at the beach with a
bunch of subadult, gray-green legged, MEW gulls (maybe a few CA gulls
there, too!) The Heermann's was walking around along the water's edge,
and I could not help but notice how much it might resemble a dark pigeon
to a casual observer.
Again, this gull was seen at Des Moines Beach Park, low tide about 10AM,
today, Sunday, Oct 04, 1998.

Cheers,
