Subject: Rainier and the Raven


My brother Dave and I made it to the top of Rainier last Monday:
14,411'. Son Charlie did not, as he got altitude sickness at about
11,000'. 12 of 23 in our group made it. We got to the top and I was
leaning against my pack, having a candy bar when to the north and over
the rim of the caldera (we were sitting in it) I see a bird. It flies
south and circles over us, then disappears from view out of the
caldera. It was a raven. I was amazed...
