We saw flocks and flocks of cranes at Ridgefield yesterday, flying overhead and calling their strange cries. Also saw a flock of 16 on the bank at the Carty Unit. Flocks flew over at both the Carty and River units, and were landing far out at the River unit. Wonderful! Also saw a flock of cedar waxwings, four varied thrushes, house wren, assorted ducks and geese, etc. Lots of swallows in the air, a hunting harrier, beautiful redtails, a pair of kestrels...nice day.
